DSO DSC (Bar) RM/RN. Fleet Air Arm ace 'Ronnie' Hay had a long and arduous war. He scored his first air victory with 801 Squadron during
the Norwegian campaign. He flew Skuas and Rocs covering the Dunkirk evacuation. During the Battle of Britain with 808 Squadron he was
engaged in dockyard defence. Took part in the 'Operation Torch' landings in North Africa. In 1944 operating from HMS Victorious he took part in
attacks on Japanese airfields and the huge oil refineries at Palembang. Commander Donald John Sheppard DSC FAA RCN. From March 1944
he was involved in flying operations off the Norwegian coast and took part in the first successful air strike on the German Battleship Tirpitz. In
December 1944 & January 1945 he flew in the section of Corsairs led by Major Ronnie Hay. He took part in the invasion of Okinawa. He was
credited with 3 or 4 enemy aircraft destroyed. Good condition Est. £20 – 30

bombing raid on 17 May 1943. 14 page article featuring Guy Gibson VC and his crew. Excellent black and white and colour pictures featuring
'Bomber' Harris, Barnes Wallis, diagram maps of how the bouncing bomb worked, the breached dams, flooding, Gibson's VC and other
decorations. Colour photo and interview with Dave Shannon, Basil Feneron & Jim Clay. Article on the book by Paul Brickhill, and the feature film
with excellent reproduction photos of the film poster, Richard Todd, Eric Coates and music sheet. Good condition Est. £10 – 15
LOT121 - Wing Commander Stanislaw Skalski Virtuti Militari Cross of Valour (3 Bars) DSO DFC (2 Bars). 501 Squadron. Personal card with
note signed by the great Polish top-scoring fighter pilot. Led 'Skalski's Flying Circus' (Poles) in the Desert Campaign. Ended the war with at
least 24 victories. Good condition Est. £30 - 40
LOT122 - Squadron Leader Thomas Clifford 'Tony' Iveson DFC 616 Squadron. After the Battle of Britain he joined Bomber Command and
was with 617 Dam Busters Squadron taking part in their last great raid of the war, the attack on the German pocket Battleship Tirpitz. Letter
invitation to visit him at his home in France. Good condition Est. £25 - 35

LOT126 - Squadron Leader Kenwyn Roland 'Stuffy' Sutton DFC 264 Squadron BOB, Note from a very gallant New Zealander responding to
request for signature. During the Battle of France he took part in attacks on German transport, bridges and pontoons. then flew night intruder
patrols in the Battle of Britain. In August 1942 flying with 605 Squadron he attacked gun positions during the raid on Dieppe. In April 1943 with
85 Squadron returning from a daylight raid he was shot down by Canadian anti-aircraft gunners over Hove. He crashed on the railway line with
severe injuries which resulted in the loss of his lower left and left arm. He was twice Mentioned in Despatches and returned to flying in 1944
flying Magisters and Oxfords Returning to New Zealand after the war he joined the National Airways Corporation. Good condition Est. £30 - 40

Squadron in April 1940 he took part in operations against the advancing Germans in the Low Countries, France & Dunkirk. In September 1940

LOT134 - Flight Lieutenant Michal Maciejowski-Manson DFC DFM Virtuti Militari Cross of Valour (3 Bars) 249 Squadron Battle of Britain.
Hand written letter from Polish pilot. Ace with 11 confirmed victories. 9 August 1943 Shot down and taken POW. After the war he settled in the
UK, changed his name to Manson, and re-joined the RAF in 1951. A great fighting Polish pilot. Good condition Est. £30 - 40
LOT135 - Wing Commander P.P.C. 'Paddy' Barthropp DFC AFC 602 Squadron Battle of Britain. Handwritten, amusing response to request
for signature. On 15th May 1942 he was shot down by Fw109s over St Omer, baled out and taken P.O.W. He was in Stalag Luft III and took
part in 'The Great Escape; but was recaptured and fortunate to be spared the fate of 50 of the escapers who were murdered by the Gestapo.
PLUS Copy of Paddy's letter to The Times 27, January 1981complaining about the treatment meted out to the POW's when were freed from
captivity and about the pay owed still to them by the RAF. also comment item from The Daily Mail about Paddy's letter of complaint. Good
